The Single Shoe Phenomenon
I find myself perpelxed by this "Single Shoe Phenomenon". Have you ever been driving down the street/highway and come across a single shoe lying in the road. I find this astounding! I don't understand why it's always a single shoe! Where is the other shoe? How can someone not know that they have lost one of their shoes? Further more, as you're driving down the road, especially a highway, what on earth would you be doing inside the car that would ultimately result in the loss of one of your shoes? I have posed this question to a few people, one proposed theory is that the former owner of the lost shoe put their shoes on the roof or tailgate and forgot about them. But if that was the case, you would think that more often than not you would come across both shoes instead of just one! Another theory is that it's a lot easier to dangle one leg out of the window than two legs! In my experience, I find most of the single shoes to be tennis/running shoes, which would likely be tied and not likely to fall off. I also wonder what the owner of the now "split pair" of shoes does. Does the owner try to retrace their steps to retrieve the lost "soul"? Does the owner continue to look for days/weeks/months? At what point do you give up and throw away the remaining shoe? Or do you donate the remaining shoe and hope it finds it way to a good new home on a one legged person? I guess the point I'm trying to make is that maybe people shouldn't treat their shoes with such reckless abandonement.

Not all dogs love water!
Dory getting a bath - she's not angry, she just got some water in her nose and she's trying to snort it out! FYI this picture was taken back in SLC over 3 years ago, but she still feels the same way today! I don't know why I chose to share this with you, but for lack of something better to post, since nothing terribly exiting is happening in my life, I thought this would suffice for now!

I am so excited!!!! I love that you are a blogger now. I suck super bad. I had a Scentsy Party last night and forgot to invite you. I totally suck at arranging parties. I wrote out all my invitations and didn't have any stamps to send them. I delivered yours, but never called you to make sure you got it. If you want to order anything let me know, you can get 10% off. See you tonight.
oh ya, I am in serious need of a dressing container from Pampered Chef. If I go through you do you get anyting, or should I go through Cindy?
I have experienced this one shoe phenomenon, but on the other end. My aunt left her shoes on top of the trunk and drove away. We found the shoe and stopped to grab it, but couldn't find the other shoe. We later drove back the other way and found the other shoe. So both shoes were out there, just super far apart.
I'm sorry, I just wanted to comment again on how many comments I have left on this one post. Sorry. :)
I saw that you had SEVEN comments on your second blog post ever and I popped in to say, HOLY MOLY girl. Then I saw that it was Barnes Mama with comment hyperactive disorder. But still!
Welcome to the blogosphere. We get you all in the end...
Oh yeah. Funny post too.
There's a lone shoe at Brady and Fitty-Third right now.
Even though we are separated by so many miles, it is funny to see we still think the same! I have honestly asked Kenny this same question and pondered it myself. My fear is always that someone got hit by a passing car. As it happened they were thrown out of their shoe/shoes and the EMT forgot to pick up the spare shoe because is a shoe really all that important as getting someone to the hospital? Maybe this is because I work at a hospital or maybe I am just a little morbid.
Believe it or not, I found this comment searching for something to do with my single shoe. In December, I was in a really bad car wreck (coma for a week, hospital for three...) my family retrieved *most* of my stuff from the car remains, but apparently one brand new unworn shoe got left behind somewhere. (I had extra pairs in the car for later in the trip I was going on) It seems such a shame to throw this perfectly good shoe away... I'm totally going to look for a good one-legged-person home for it.
